The 2024 Indian Lake High School musical will have you dancing in the aisles!
The cast and crew will present Footloose on March 1 and 2 in the Wilma Jacobs Performing Arts Auditorium at Indian Lake High School beginning at 7:30 pm.
“Footloose is such an iconic film and the musical follows the same story. Even better, the stage show features all the songs from the soundtrack that many of us remember from the original movie 40 years ago or the remake in 2011,” explains Indian Lake Vocal Music Teacher and ILHS Musical Director Tracey Notestine. “It’s a great show for a large cast of 50-plus.”
Moving in from Chicago, newcomer Ren McCormack is in shock when he discovers the small Midwestern town he now calls home has made dancing and rock music illegal.
As he struggles to fit in, Ren faces an uphill battle to change things.
With the help of his new friend, Willard Hewitt, and defiant teen Ariel Moore, he might loosen up this conservative town.
But Ariel’s influential father, Reverend Shaw Moore, stands in the way.
The production has a large cast featuring seniors Brody Parsell (Ren McCormack), AdeLynn Martin (Ariel Moore), Grant McPherson (Willard Hewitt), Makayla Motter (Rusty), Hannah Metzger (Vi Moore), Burke Lillard (Chuck Cranston), and Carmyn Weiner (Ethel McCormack), with juniors Daniel Wahl (Rev. Shaw Moore), Adeline Robinson (Urleen), and Colten Corcoran (Cowboy Bob). It also features sophomore Riley Ross (Wendy Jo).
Along with Director Tracey Notestine, the show is choreographed by Rebecca Taylor, with orchestra direction by Jason Fauley, sets by Ed Rogers, and lighting by Gabe Reichert.
All seats are $10.00 and tickets are sold exclusively online at http://ils-k12.org/athletic__activity_director/ticket_box_office.
