Early Tuesday morning, Tony Dowell, 62 of Zanesfield, was traveling westbound on State Route 540 when he went off the right side of the road and struck a telephone pole knocking it down.
Dowell continued to travel in the ditch and then hit a home.
He was not injured in the accident.
Dowell was issued a citation for Failure to Control.
Snowy/icy road conditions were a factor in the crash.
