July at the Holland Theatre, Logan County’s nonprofit performing arts center, features two of the region’s most popular tribute bands, a children’s Disney musical and an annual free band
concert.
Kicking off the month is Parrots of the Caribbean – Salute to Jimmy Buffett on Friday, July 5, at 7:30 p.m. Expect a great time in Margaritaville with this fun-loving band’s outrageous antics and beach-side Buffett favorites.
Next up is Windmill Productions’ Jungle Book KIDS on Friday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, July 13, at 2 p.m. From “I Wanna Be Like You” to “Bare Necessities,” local elementary-age children present this adaptation of the beloved Disney classic.
Audience members will time travel to the 1970s when Turn to Stone – Tribute to ELO takes the stage on Saturday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m. The band re-creates the early days of Electric Light Orchestra with a light show, costumes, and a live string section.
Finally, the West Central Ohio Community Concert Band presents its annual summer concert on Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m., this year featuring hits from musical theater. This concert is free, but a ticket is required.
Tickets for all events are available at TheHolland.org or through the box office at 937-592-9002, 127 East Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine (Tuesdays 11-3, Thursdays and Fridays 1-5). Some shows offer youth tickets online; youth pricing for most other shows and group discounts are available through the box office.
