After several years of inactivity, Keep Logan County Beautiful (KLCB) is officially back and preparing to reestablish its presence across the county with renewed energy and purpose.

KLCB operates as part of a broader statewide network led by Keep Ohio Beautiful, which has been working since 1979 to support local communities in protecting natural ecosystems.

The organization focuses on litter prevention, recycling initiatives, and community beautification projects designed to improve environmental health and quality of life throughout Ohio.

Through its affiliate model, Keep Ohio Beautiful relies heavily on local volunteer groups like KLCB to carry out its mission at the community level.

These affiliates play a key role in extending outreach, educating residents, and organizing cleanup and improvement efforts in their own regions.

Monday afternoon, Jacob King, with the Logan County Solid Waste District, helped kick off the renewed initiative with a short luncheon, marking an early step in reestablishing local engagement and momentum for the program.

According to program information, affiliates such as Keep Logan County Beautiful help bridge statewide goals with local action, allowing residents to take direct part in improving their surroundings.

KLCB strives to encourage sustainability in our local community by sponsoring events, applying for grants, and pursuing local projects to enhance the beauty of Logan County.

The next meeting is planned for May 21st at 6:00 PM at the Logan County Solid Waste District, located at 1100 South Detroit Street in Bellefontaine.

King went on to add that the group will be looking for service projects and initiatives.

As the group regains momentum, King says the goal is simple: bring residents, businesses, and community partners together to keep Logan County clean, attractive, and environmentally responsible for years to come.

“Logan County is the heart of the heart of it all,” King added, “the gem of Ohio, let’s keep it that way!”
