A dispute between neighbors on Ash Street led to the arrest of 27-year-old Rebecca McCormick on Monday.
The argument started when Larry McGurdy, who lives nearby, complained about noise from McCormick and her friends moving scrap metal late at night. McGurdy said he went outside to ask them to be quieter but was met with insults and threats, including McCormick threatening to kick his rear end.
McGurdy felt unsafe and decided to press charges of menacing.
When police arrived, witnesses confirmed McGurdy’s account, saying McCormick had made threatening remarks. McCormick admitted to using such language.
After reviewing the evidence, police arrested McCormick for menacing. She was read her rights, ordered not to contact McGurdy, and taken to the Logan County Jail. McCormick is now facing charges of menacing.
