The Washington Township Police Department was dispatched to the Village Pantry in Russells Point after a report that an employee, Ashley Dever, 40, had stolen more than $1,000 from the store in cigarettes and lottery tickets Friday afternoon.
The thefts took place over time. Dever told police that she planned to pay for the items at a later date.
Dever was charged with felony theft and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
