Bellefontaine Fire crews responded to Republic Services on U.S. 68 Friday evening just before 8 p.m. for a fire involving about half an acre of garbage at the landfill.
Crews were on scene for only a short time as workers at the landfill used dozers to cover the fire with dirt.
The blaze was quickly contained.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported.
