A woman was arrested late Friday night for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVI) after reports of reckless driving at Indian Lake State Park Campground led to a traffic stop.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned friend stating that Daniele Ward had left the campground in a black Dodge Charger with tinted windows and that she was believed to be intoxicated.
Deputies patrolling the area soon located a vehicle matching the description on State Route 235.
Observing the vehicle swerving, law enforcement initiated a traffic stop.
Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies spoke with Ward, who claimed she had consumed only “two beers.”
Smelling the odor of alcoholic beverages during the conversation, deputies said Ward appeared visibly upset, citing personal issues.
Ward was asked to exit the vehicle to conduct field sobriety tests, which she failed.
Given the results of the field sobriety tests and authorities’ observations, Ward was arrested for OVI.
She was cited, is scheduled for a court appearance, and released to a sober driver.
