On the final day of Logan County CERT training, participants discussed the psychological impact of dealing with major disasters.

They shared past experiences dealing with disasters and mass casualties that affected their mental health and subsequentially, their lives.

Additionally, they reviewed and tested their new skills learned in the 2-week program and became certified and vetted major disaster recovery volunteers.

Lance Peterson is the manager of the CERT program in Logan County and is confident when disaster strikes again, his CERT Teams will be ready and capable of providing top-notch assistance to responding emergency services and victims.

Peterson reiterated that not all participants will be on CERT Teams, but will have the knowledge and skills necessary to assist their families and neighbors during emergencies until proper services can respond.
