Urbana Police arrested a man late Monday night following a reported domestic violence incident at a residence on East Ward Street.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched around 11:30 p.m. Aug. 31 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.
Officers were told the suspect, Ethan Hall, had left the residence in a Honda Civic. An officer located Hall on East Lawn Avenue near Children’s Home Road and conducted a traffic stop.
Police spoke with Hall, who admitted he and the other person involved had been drinking and arguing. Hall said he left the residence because he wanted to remove himself from the situation.
Officers reported smelling alcohol coming from the vehicle and noticed Hall had glassy eyes. He was asked to complete field sobriety testing and failed, according to the report.
A portable breath test showed a result of .137. Hall was arrested for OVI.
A search of the vehicle reportedly found four one-ounce containers of Fireball and a glass marijuana pipe.
At the Urbana Police Division, Hall provided a breath sample that registered .122 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath on a BAC Datamaster.
During an interview, Hall admitted to shoving the other person during the argument. He denied striking the person but admitted to throwing items from the front porch before leaving.
Hall was arrested for domestic violence and OVI, both misdemeanors of the first degree.
