Indian Lake High School has announced the May Seniors of the Month, Evan Manley and Katie Roby.
Evan Manley is the son of Mike and Lynn Manley of Huntsville.
School Activities and awards: Football, Baseball, Golf, and Key Club
If I were principal for a day: I would most likely bring in food trucks and let the kids play games outside and have fun and relax.
Favorite school memory: Winning the DodgeBall Tournament four years in a row.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, my coaches, my teachers and my boss
Lately I’ve been reading: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
My advice to parents: Let us make mistakes and learn from them. Give your kids some freedom (within reason) to have fun, live life and make mistakes.
My biggest regret: I regret letting school stress me out. No one will ever remember or care what grades you got in school.
Next year I will be: Working with Pipe Fitters in Lima doing an apprenticeship
Katie Roby is the daughter of Ben and Malesia Roby of Russells Point.
School Activities and awards: Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, National Honor Society, Student Council President, Class officer, Business Professionals of America, Science Club
If I were principal for a day: I would create a Field Day or bring back a Relay for Life Day.
Favorite school memory: My sister, cousin and I all having our talks in the shop office.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, family and teachers
Lately I’ve been reading: Paper Towns by John Green
My advice to parents: Let your kids be kids and let them learn from their mistakes.
My biggest regret: I should have taken more business classes, and looked into job shadowing more.
Next year I will be: Attending Bowling Green State University and Majoring in Business
