Thursday night, Logan County Sheriff Deputies were on patrol in Lakeview when they saw a car fail to turn off their high-beam headlights as they approached traffic.

Officers followed the vehicle and noticed that the driver, later identified as Whitney Mansker, 29, of Bellefontaine, also ran a red light and almost hit a truck.

When deputies stopped Mansker they could smell alcoholic beverages coming from her car.

A child was also in the backseat.

Officers noticed a Twisted Tea can on the floorboard, and Mansker admitted to having about 5 of them earlier in the day.

She showed several signs of intoxication, failed many field sobriety tests, and was then placed under arrest.

Masnker was transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where she refused to provide a breath sample.

After refusing the breath sample, she was taken to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office where she and her child were released to a sober driver.

Mansker was charged with OVI, expired operator license, traffic control device, stop light, failure to dim, open container in a motor vehicle, and child endangering.

The Washington Township Police and Russells Point Police assisted at the scene.
