The Mary Rutan Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to local students pursuing careers in healthcare for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Foundation officials announced that 91 students were selected to receive a combined $103,500 in scholarship assistance through a variety of donor-supported funds. The scholarships help students studying in fields ranging from nursing and medicine to pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, speech pathology, social work, and other healthcare-related professions.

Since launching its scholarship program in 1992, the Mary Rutan Foundation has awarded more than $2.7 million to local students pursuing healthcare careers.

“The generous donors that have supported Mary Rutan Foundation’s scholarship program make it possible to award scholarships to all local students that meet the eligibility requirements as well as provide scholarships to the students for multiple years during their programs of study,” said Foundation Executive Director Bobbie Trittschuh. “We are very pleased with the increase in the number of applications we received again this year and the various programs they chose to pursue.”

The scholarships are funded through contributions from individuals, memorial gifts, bequests, and dedicated scholarship funds established to support healthcare education.
