Tuesday afternoon Bellefontaine Police were dispatched to Dollar General on North Main Street on the report of counterfeit money.
It was reported that a woman had been at other Dollar General stores in the area, attempting to pass bad money, and was now in the North Main Street location.
Officers located a woman matching the description given by employees and later identified her as Kayla White, 19 of Kalamazoo, MI.
They learned that a woman matching White’s description had used counterfeit money at a Dollar General in Urbana, and attempted to at the South Main Street Dollar General in Bellefontaine.
White denied knowing that she had used any counterfeit money or had it.
Officers arrested White after they found counterfeit money in her purse.
While en route to jail, White threw a receipt on the floor, attempting to hide it from officers.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail where she was charged with Tampering with Evidence and Counterfeiting.
Later, officers learned that White had used a counterfeit $100 bill at Advanced Auto in Bellefontaine.
