A 43-year-old Middleburg woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say she hit three parked vehicles in the Lowe’s parking lot before driving away while allegedly impaired.

According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers were dispatched to Lowe’s around 4:20 p.m. after multiple witnesses reported that a white vehicle had hit three vehicles and left the parking lot.

Witnesses followed the vehicle and provided officers with the license plate number, which led police to locate the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on South Main Street.

Police identified the driver as Stephanie Havens.

When officers approached the vehicle, they found it still running and in drive.

Officers say Havens initially believed she was still in the Lowe’s parking lot and had to be instructed several times to turn off the vehicle and get out.

As an officer opened the passenger door, an air duster can reportedly fell from the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found four cans of Spray X air duster—three empty and one partially empty—along with six unopened cans of Utilitech air duster.

Investigators also found a Walmart receipt showing the purchase of two additional cans of air duster earlier that day.

According to the report, Havens initially denied buying air duster at Walmart before officers confronted her with the receipt.

She later admitted purchasing the unopened cans from Lowe’s.

Officers conducted standardized field sobriety tests, during which Havens showed multiple clues of impairment, according to the report.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department.

Police say Havens attempted to provide two breath samples, but both resulted in an “interferent detected” reading.

She later provided a urine sample, and a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an additional evaluation.

Havens was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Havens was also arrested in June of this year in a similar incident.
