Motorcyclist Takes Police on High-Speed Chase

UPDATE:

The chase continued into Bellefontaine where Bellefontaine Police officers attempted to stop the motorcycle, described as a red Suzuki GSX with a temporary license plate.

The driver led officers through town on another chase of more than 50 MPH north on Main Street until it reached the entrance to US 33 West.

On US 33 West, the driver accelerated to speeds of 120 – 130 MPH.

Russells Point Police took over the pursuit when the driver reached State Route 117.

No further information is available at this time.

 

A high-speed chase that started in West Liberty this afternoon continues to occupy law enforcement agencies throughout the area.

Shortly after 3 o’clock today, West Liberty Police were advised of a wreckless motorcycle driver going through town.

Officers observed traffic violations and attempted to stop the motorcycle. The driver failed to stop and reached speeds over 90 MPH.

Officers in pursuit discontinued their attempt to stop the suspect on US 68 near Township Road 30 due to traffic and safety concerns.
