Tuesday afternoon, the Logan County Sheriff’s office received a report of an altercation between two neighbors just outside of Quincy.
The victim’s dog had run out of their yard, and the victim jumped in his truck to find it.
The dog was found at the end of a neighbor’s drive.
He pulled into the driveway, leaving their driver’s door open to retrieve the dog.
As he was putting his dog in the truck, an SUV entered the driveway and clipped his driver’s door.
The driver, Troy Shough, asked the victim who he was and why he was there.
The victim responded saying he was a neighbor.
He went on to explain that his dog had gotten out of his yard and it was located on Shough’s property.
He then got in his vehicle when Shough punched the driver-side door window.
The victim opened the door, then Shough wrapped his arm around his neck, choked, punched & kneed him, pushing his face into the gravel, and broke his glasses.
He was able to get away and went home to call for help.
Deputies responded to Shough’s residence where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
He was charged with assault.
