Pequignot, Kimmel names ILHS Seniors of the Month

Indian Lake recently named its Seniors of the Month for September.

Name: Grace Pequignot

Parents: Brett and Mimi Pequignot

School Activities and awards: Soccer, Swim, Track, National Honors Society, Key Club, Youth Leadership, Spanish Club, Meistersingers, Musical, Middle School Hall of Fame, Scholar Athlete, Regional Qualifier (Shot put) (2 times), District Alternates for swim (200 Medley Relay & 200 Free Relay), CBC Sportsmanship Award (Soccer), CBC Special Mention (Discus)

If I were the principal for a day: I would bring in puppies and kittens for everyone to play with.

Favorite school memory: Every Extravaganza performance

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My family and friends

Lately, I’ve been reading: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk

My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to try as many things as possible.

My biggest regret: Not taking Calculus this year

Next year I will be: attending Carroll University for Exercise Science. I have committed for track and field, as well as soccer.

If I were principal for a day: If you have good grades and have no missing work, you can have a day off school.

Favorite school memory: Playing sports and being able to make memories with all of my friends throughout the years.

Lately, I’ve been reading: Cross Justice by James Patterson

My advice to parents: Don’t get upset with your kids for small mistakes or shelter them too much, let them live and learn from their mistakes.

My biggest regret: I regret not doing the musical my junior year and not taking a business class at all in high school.

Next year I will be: Attending an undecided university to earn a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
