Multiple wrecks around the area were reported Saturday due to icy road conditions.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office State Route 117, between US 33 and State Route 235, was shut down for several hours and finally reopened around 11:30 AM following a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck and two other vehicles.
Icy road conditions are being cited as a contributing factor to the crash.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area until further notice.
Additionally, State Route 68 North had also been closed for a short time and several slide-offs and accidents on US 33 have been reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Motorists are advised to use caution when navigating the roadways.
According to the National Weather Service Logan and surrounding counties are under a Hazardous Weather Outlook.
Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark on Saturday with possible rain and snow mix.
Sunday we look for a possible one to two inches of snow as temperatures stay below freezing.
