Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies made a disturbing find Thursday night in Rushsylvania while trying to contact someone. They found a small brown Pitbull mix crawl out from under a couch that was left outdoors and flipped over. The puppy suffered from severe malnutrition and was tied to a pallet by a rope. A nearby water and food dish were out of the puppy’s reach and had leaves, dirt, and frozen water in them as it was snowing and the outside temperature was near freezing.
Deputies contacted the owner of the property, 31-year-old Seth Wagner of Rushsylvania, who claimed he didn’t know the dog was there. He said the dog belonged to his ex-wife, Casey, and she was to pick the dog up. When contacted by Deputies, Casey refused being able to take possession of the dog and was surprised at its condition.
Seth was issued a summons for Cruelty to Animals. The dog was taken to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for care.
