Deputies Handle Domestic Violence

Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home in the 9000 block of McGregor Drive in Lakeview Saturday night.

A 911 caller stated that a man and woman had been arguing when the woman hit the man in the face and then left the scene in her vehicle.

While en route, deputies saw the described vehicle pass them on State Route 235 and initiated a traffic stop.

They made contact with the female half of the altercation, Kimberly Heitkamp, 41, of Elida.

She told deputies that she saw the victim, “rubbing” on another girl and got upset.

Heitkamp admitted that she punched the victim and hit him with a glass bottle.

She claimed the victim then threatened her with a gun.

Other officials proceeded to the scene, where they spoke with the victim.

The victim stated that Heitkamp had shown up, yelling at him, punched him in the eye and several other places, and then threw a bottle at him.

Deputies noted that he had a cut on his forehead.

Heitkamp then got in her vehicle and sped away.

She was arrested for domestic violence and lodged in the Logan County Jail.

 

Abba Higgins, 45, of Lakeview, was arrested for domestic violence early Monday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 10000 block of Ash Street in Lakeview for a domestic dispute.

Once on scene, the victim told deputies that he and Higgins had been arguing when she sprayed his face with pepper spray.

He stated that he went to their bedroom to get his pepper spray so he could defend himself from Higgins.

She continued to argue with the victim and he sprayed her with pepper spray, claiming self-defense.

Higgins was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
