Friday night, Sylvia Inskeep called the Logan County Sheriff’s office and reported that a known suspect had taken her boyfriend’s car.
Deputies contacted the owner of a white 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, William Fordyce.
Fordyce told deputies that he allowed his girlfriend to use his vehicle and no one else.
The vehicle was reported stolen.
The next morning, cameras in Bellefontaine picked up the vehicle at the intersection of Gunntown and Ludlow Roads.
Bellefontaine Police attempted to stop the driver, later identified as John Clary, 33, of Bellefontaine, when he began to flee.
Finally coming to a stop in the 6000 block of County Road 55, Clary was placed under arrest.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail for failure to comply.
Additional charges are pending.
