A Bellefontaine man was arrested Sunday evening after deputies said he was speeding and driving under the influence near Indian Lake.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle on State Route 235 near Township Road 293 just before 7 p.m. after radar showed it traveling 62 to 63 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.
The driver, 40-year-old Blaze Kiser, pulled into Big Bear Campground after the traffic stop began.
Deputies reported seeing signs of impairment while speaking with Kiser.
He admitted that he did not have a valid driver’s license and had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening.
After getting out of the vehicle, Kiser refused to take field sobriety tests.
Deputies said he later acknowledged that he had consumed too much alcohol.
Kiser was arrested and taken to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, where he also refused to take a breath test.
Authorities contacted Kiser’s parole officer, who advised that Kiser was in violation of his parole conditions.
He was then lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Kiser was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, driving under suspension, and speeding.
