The Vietnam Traveling Wall is a 3/5 scale replica of the real deal at our nation’s capital.

Currently located in Urbana, the Traveling Memorial is available to view around the clock until Monday at 9 AM.

Volunteers from the VFW are hosting the wall however declined to comment, saying “The Wall speaks for itself, it’s a powerful experience.”

It stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end.

The Traveling Memorial is a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War.

It was made for the purpose of healing and rekindling friendships and to allow people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their hometown who otherwise may not be able to make the trip to Washington DC.

If you know a name that is listed on the way but need assistance to find it, volunteers have a master book that lists the location of each name.

Area residents of all ages are invited to come visit the memorial, it’s a moving sight to see.

The Traveling Memorial is temporarily located on State Route 68, just South of Grimes Airport in Urbana.
