Calvary Christian Track & Field delivered a strong showing at the Metro Buckeye Conference Championships, highlighted by multiple conference titles, record-breaking performances, and several podium finishes as both the boys and girls teams competed their way into districts.
Calvary Christian Girls Track & Field
The Calvary Christian girls also delivered key scoring performances, earning a conference podium finish in the sprints and strong relay results to close out championship competition.
Avery McCarty led the girls with a third-place finish in the 200 meters (29.94), providing one of the top individual finishes for the team.
Emily Cronkleton added scoring in both sprints, placing fifth in the 100 meters (14.74) and seventh in the 200 (31.89). Nagore Rocaspana also contributed in the 100, finishing seventh in 15.46.
In the 400 meters, Macy Gierhart placed seventh in 1:23.51, while Abriely Krabill finished sixth in the 800 meters (3:23.90).
The girls’ relay teams also performed well under championship pressure. The 4×100 relay squad earned a third-place finish in 1:05.47, while the 4×400 relay team placed fourth in 5:21.91.
Calvary Christian girls finished fifth overall in the team standings with 35 points.
Calvary Christian Boys Track & Field
The Calvary Christian boys turned in one of their strongest championship meet performances of the season, earning multiple top-three finishes and a pair of relay runner-up medals.
Elias Peterson led the way with a conference title in the 200 meters, winning in 23.75 after placing fourth in the 100 (11.73). He also added a third-place finish in the long jump (18-1.5), making him one of the most productive athletes of the meet.
Distance standout John Gaertner had a big day as well, finishing second in the 800 meters (2:01.71) before placing third in the 1600 (4:27.85). The 1600 performance came in a record-breaking run for the program, marking a new school benchmark in the event.
In longer distance action, Adly Knox captured a conference championship in the 3200 meters, winning in 10:12.90. He also contributed a fifth-place finish in the 1600 (4:37.87), while Kaden Simpson placed third in the 3200 (10:26.04), giving Calvary Christian a strong presence in the distance races.
Sprint and mid-distance depth came from Brett Gilldow, who finished fourth in the 400 meters (53.35), along with Nehemiah Dillion, who placed fifth in the 100 (11.78) and eighth in the 200 (26.09). Gideon Soma added a seventh-place finish in the 400 (59.01), while Aydan Knox placed seventh in the 800 (2:12.35).
Calvary Christian also earned strong relay results, including runner-up finishes in both the 4×400 relay (3:35.10) and 4×800 relay (8:40.35), with both performances marking record-breaking efforts for the program. The 4×100 (54.16) and 4×200 (1:53.11) relay teams each placed fifth.
In field events, Alvaro Frangi placed eighth in the long jump (14-6).
Calvary Christian boys finished third overall in the team standings with 78 points.
With the Metro Buckeye Conference Championships complete, Calvary Christian now advances to district competition, carrying momentum from multiple conference podium finishes, relay medals, and record-setting performances on the boys’ side.
