Quincy is one win away from a Pony League county championship after defeating Kenton 12-9 in an exciting semifinal matchup.
In a game filled with offense, Quincy came up with timely hits and clutch run production to hold off a determined Kenton squad.
Quincy’s lineup delivered from top to bottom, with several players turning in standout performances. Brayden Harshbarger had an outstanding day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. His extra-base hits helped spark the offense and keep pressure on the Kenton defense throughout the game.
Jaxen Orsborne provided the biggest offensive punch for Quincy, driving in three runs with key hits in crucial situations. Charlie Varian also came through with a strong performance, collecting two RBIs to help extend Quincy’s lead.
Despite Kenton battling back and putting together a late rally, Quincy answered when it needed to, making the plays necessary to preserve the 12-9 victory and earn a spot in the championship game.
The win continues a strong postseason run for Quincy, which will now turn its attention to East Liberty in Thursday night’s championship showdown. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at Perry Park, where the county title will be on the line.
