Chieftain Swim Teams Compete at Sprint Invitational

The Chieftain swim teams traveled to Trotwood for the annual 2-session Sprint Invitational. While combined results are not yet available, the boys took 3rd place in the morning session with 153 points, and the girls finished 8th out of 15 teams with 73 points.

Notable performances from the boys included Elias Abrego, who earned 37 points with a 2nd place finish in the 100 IM (PR) and 1st place in the 100 Fly (PR). Jaylen Henry earned 18 points with PRs in the 50 Free and 50 Back, while Cody Hudson contributed 16 points with a 5th-place finish in the 50 Breast. Beckham Harman scored 9 points, and Grady Feasel added 5 points. The 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay teams both finished in 3rd place.

On the girls’ side, Kaeleigh Flora scored 10 points, with PRs in the 50 Fly and 50 Back. Emma Nieto also earned points in the 50 Free and 50 Back. Maddie Ullom scored 7 points with PRs in the 100 Free and 50 Free. The 200 Free Relay team, which included Flora, Steele, Ullom, and Myers, finished in 6th place.

Despite a challenging practice week, the team showed improvement in their technique, with several swimmers making notable time drops. The team will next compete at home on Tuesday, December 10th, hosting Botkins and Minster.
