The Bellefontaine 7th grade girls won their fifth straight game Saturday morning by defeating visiting Indian Lake 21-2.
The Lady Chiefs used stingy defense and relentless rebounding to pace their Saturday morning efforts.
Annie Gallaway and Kennedy Hairston combined for 20 rebounds, while Hairston netted 11 points.
Gallaway also scored three points and had three assists.
Samantha Bricker, Gianna Davis, and Zyannia Bean-Breaston combined for 7 points in the contest.
The 7th Grade Lady Chiefs improved to 8-4 on the year and will host Kenton Ridge on Thursday night.
The 8th grade Lady Chiefs hosted Indian Lake Saturday morning and came away victorious 42-11.
The Chiefs offense jumped out to a quick start and it continued for the whole game.
Pacing the Chiefs was Mia Brown with 20 points, five rebounds, and nine steals.
Cameo Greene tossed in nine points and four steals. Rylee Crabtree added six points and four rebounds.
Paxton Stewart added two points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Allie Myers added two points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Lexey Brown had two points and hauled down five rebounds and Annie Clem added two points.
Lelia Hammond played good defense one assist and three rebounds.
Laura Metzger scored 6 points, Kyler Carruthers scored 3 points and had 3 steals, and Claire Tidwell had 2 points and 5 rebounds for the Lakers.
The Calvary Christian Girls’ Junior High team lost to Emanual Christian 24-18.
Madelyn Carter led the Spartans in scoring with 7 points, Caroline Moore added 6, Eden Lecrone had 2 and Destiny Mathys added 3 points and led the team with 9 rebounds.
West Liberty-Salem 8th grade boys beat Madison Plains 40-37.
Brandel Sullivan led the Tigers with 15 points, Isaiah Barth had 14, Grant Krabill submitted 9 points, and Nate Shivley had 2 points.
The Tigers play Triad Tuesday at Triad following the 5:30, 7th grade game start.
Meanwhile, the West Liberty-Salem 8th grade girls’ basketball team lost at home against Madison Plains 54-19.
Their record is now 7-5.
The girls will host Triad on Tuesday.
Their game will follow the 7th grade game which is set to start at 5:30.
The 7th-grade girls defeated Madison Plans 52-14.
This improves their record to 10-0.
West Liberty-Salem 6th Grade Girls Basketball team completed a weekend sweep of Graham (25-10) and Urbana (22-20 in OT).
Zoey Richardson led all scorers in the victory over Graham with 14, Izzy Jones contributed 7, and Chloe Staten and Kennedy Logwood had 2 each.
Urbana was a hard-fought game with WL-S down 9 going into half however the defense ratcheted up and the game was closed out with a 16-5 run by West Liberty.
Zoey Richardson paced scorers with 11 while Izzy Jones 6 and Chloe Staten came up huge with baskets in the 4th quarter and over time.
West Liberty is 6-0 and will play Greenview and Kenton Ridge next weekend.
