Northeastern Falls to West Liberty-Salem

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers soccer teams defeated Northeastern Thursday evening.

On the boys side of things, the Tigers began the season with a win over Northeastern 5-1.
Down 1-0 early, the Tigers scored the next 5 goals, netting 3 in the first half and 2 in the second.
Leading the scoring for WLS was Malachi Christison with 2 goals and 1 assist.
Then Matthew Christison had one goal and one assist, Isaiah Reminder had 1 goal, Isaiah Reames had 1 goal, and Jake Lauck had 2 assists.
Tucker Searles recorded 2 saves in goal.  The Tigers are now 1-0 and play at Fairbanks next on 8/24.
The girls defeated Northeastern 8-1.

Leading the way for the Tigers were Delaney Jones and Rosey Dunham with two goals.
Adding another goal each was: Megan Hollar, Chloe Bende, Skyler Ropp, and Lilly Weaver.
Assists came from Megan Hollar with 2, Ava Johnson with 2, and with 1; Ivy Cline, Brooke Dunn, Akira Whitman, and Zoie Vermillion.
Kaylee Blair saved 2 goals.

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers will play again Saturday at Cincinnati Madeira.
