Thursday’s Tough Night in Girls Hoops

Mechanicsburg defeated West Liberty-Salem 55-50 Thursday night.

Leading the Tigers was Chaley Wade netting 16 points, Lilly Weaver added 12, Bailey Poppe scored 11,  Ava Astroino added 7, and  Maddie Cole netting 4  points.

The JV Tigers defeated Mechanicsburg 36-28.

Leading the scoring was Maddie Adkins with 11 points.

 

The JV Riverside Lady Pirates beat Northridge in league action 39-26.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was Maddie Lemly with 11 points.

Kenna Johnson had 10 points and Makayla Hurley added 8.

The JV Lady Pirates are now 4-0 this year.

The varsity Lady Pirates fell to Northridge 38-52.

Northridge took an early lead with a 16-11 advantage after the first quarter.

The Pirates came back and cut that lead to 4 in the second quarter making it 26-22.

Northridge then took a big lead in the third leading 42-27.

Then they kept that momentum in the 4th to win 52-38.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was Emma Saylor netting 12.

Zoie Armbruster and Avery Perk both chipped in 10 points.

The Lady Pirates fell to 1-3 and are now 1-1 in league play.

 

Triad played at Madison Plains in a JV-only game and lost 36-16.

Hannah Russell had 9 points and 4 rebounds.

Jazz Ford had 4 points.

Bre Parsons had 9 rebounds.

Melissa Graham had 6 rebounds.

Triad will be in action again on Saturday against West Jefferson, JV starts at 6:00 PM.
