Urbana 13, Graham 8
Urbana held off a late rally from Graham to secure a 13-8 victory.
The Hillclimbers jumped out early, scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. Addison Fox got things started with a solo home run in the first, and Morgan Hoffman added a sacrifice fly later in the inning. In the second, Aubriee Reynolds reached base and Fox capitalized on a misplayed fly ball to extend the lead to 4-0.
Graham struggled early against Urbana pitcher Isla Wooten, stranding multiple runners through the first four innings. Meanwhile, Urbana broke the game open in the fourth. Chloe Esterday doubled in a run, Fox followed with an RBI single, and Morgan Boyd launched a two-run home run to push the lead to 8-0.
The Falcons answered in the fifth with four runs. Mariah Sizemore delivered an RBI single, an error allowed another run to score, and Charli Werner added a two-run hit to cut the deficit in half.
Urbana responded with four more runs in the bottom of the inning. After Fox was intentionally walked to load the bases, Boyd reached on an error, and Bailee Packer cleared the bases with a three-run single to make it 12-4.
Graham continued to battle in the sixth, capitalizing on errors to plate three runs, and added another in the seventh. The Falcons brought the tying run to the plate, but Urbana closed the door to seal the win.
Fox led Urbana with a 3-for-3 performance, driving in four runs and scoring four times. Packer added three RBIs, while several Hillclimbers recorded multi-hit games.
For Graham, Abby Chamberlain drove in four runs, while Werner added two hits and two RBIs.
Urbana improves to 10-6 and will host Greenon on Saturday. Graham falls to 4-12 and will prepare for a series against Indian Lake starting Monday.
Benjamin Logan 8, Tecumseh 6
Benjamin Logan held off a late Tecumseh rally to earn an 8-6 win.
The Raiders struck first in a big way, loading the bases in the opening inning before Adilynne Gregg blasted a grand slam to center field for a 4-0 lead.
Tecumseh got one back on an RBI groundout, but Benjamin Logan extended the lead with three two-out hits. Kylie Harner singled, Rylan Norviel doubled, and Gregg tripled, each driving in a run to make it 7-1.
Tecumseh chipped away in the fifth with a two-run double, then added two more runs later in the inning to cut the deficit to 7-5.
Gregg added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Tecumseh hit a solo home run in the seventh, but could not complete the comeback.
Gregg led the Raiders with two hits and six RBIs, highlighted by her grand slam. Harner added a multi-hit performance.
Benjamin Logan improves to 7-7 and will host Northwestern on Monday.
Indian Lake 11, Jonathan Alder 5
Indian Lake used a strong early offensive burst to defeat Jonathan Alder 11-5.
The Lakers scored three runs in the first inning. MacKenzie Miller led off with a double and later scored, while Brylee Buyer added a two-run single.
Jonathan Alder answered with four runs in the second to briefly take the lead, capitalizing on errors and timely hitting.
Indian Lake quickly responded in the bottom half. Izzi Mackesy delivered a two-run double, and a fielder’s choice brought in another run to make it 6-4.
The Lakers added three more runs in the third, highlighted by a bases-clearing hit from Miller, with additional runs aided by defensive miscues.
Jonathan Alder added a run in the fifth, but Indian Lake tacked on insurance in the sixth with RBIs from Addison Rapp and Bre Wisener.
Makayla Clary earned the complete-game win, allowing five unearned runs on five hits and two walks.
Miller led the offense with a perfect 4-for-4 day, while Mackesy, Rapp, and Buyer each drove in two runs.
Indian Lake improves to 5-12 and will host Graham on Monday.
Southeastern 14, Triad 3 (5 innings)
Triad was defeated by Southeastern 14-3 in a run-rule loss.
Southeastern erupted for five runs in the first inning, all with two outs, using a combination of hits and errors to build an early lead.
After leaving the bases loaded in the third, the Trojans added six more runs in the fourth, highlighted by a three-run home run and a two-run single to extend the lead to 11-0.
Southeastern added three more runs in the fifth before Triad attempted a late rally. Isabella Russell scored on a wild pitch, and Addyson Matthes delivered a two-run double to cut into the deficit. However, the Cardinals were unable to extend the game.
Matthes led Triad with two RBIs, while Cardinal hitters combined for 11 strikeouts.
Triad falls to 3-14 and will travel to Mechanicsburg on Monday.
Shawnee 14, Bellefontaine 2 (6 innings)
Shawnee pulled away late to defeat Bellefontaine 14-2 in six innings.
The Braves controlled the game early, scoring eight runs over the first four innings while holding Bellefontaine scoreless.
The Chieftains broke through in the fifth. Brilee Joseph singled, Alayna Boyd doubled, and Paxton Stewart drove in a run with a single to make it 8-1.
Shawnee responded with a six-run sixth inning, using a combination of walks, hits, and a passed ball to extend the lead to 14-1.
Bellefontaine added one more run on an RBI groundout from Chloe Heminger, but could not mount a comeback.
Stewart led the Chieftains with two hits and an RBI, while Addison Wical also recorded two hits.
Bellefontaine falls to 3-12 and will travel to Urbana on Monday.
