The current downturn in customer demand for motor vehicles has created a very serious situation for all automakers, including Honda in North America.
In order to maintain appropriate dealer inventory levels, Honda of America Manufacturing will reduce production levels at the Marysville and East Liberty Auto Plants by canceling production on Monday, December 22nd and Tuesday, December 23rd. This will extend the annual holiday shutdown to a full two weeks and reduce car and light truck production by approximately 6,000 units.
Along with the two auto plants, Honda's Anna Engine Plant and Marysville's Motorcycle Plant also will cancel production December 22nd and December 23rd.

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center's Board of Education heard a summary of the Adult and Continuing Education's program review for fiscal year 2008, including that the division had met all six of the Ohio Department of Education's performance measures and has future plans for growth.
"In fiscal year 2008 we serviced 2,100 adults in our various programs and classes, met all six ODE performance measures, and had an 88.43% completion rate of adults in our programs," said Darlene Chiles, adult and continuing education director. "We are also happy to report that our financial health is strong, as we finished FY08 over $126,000 in the black. This was up more than $20,000 from FY07, and that was with a 10% cut in funding from the state."
