The scores were 25-20, 25-12, 25-19.

For the Pirates, Amelia Carter had 7 kills and 3 blocks.

Brooklynn Purtee had 6 kills and was 5/5 on serve receive.

Abby Heaberlin was 15/19 on serve receive and recorded 3 digs and 6 blocks.

Sarah Schindewolf was 13/17 on serve receive with 5 digs.

Blaze sweep Graham, Little Chiefs split Print E-mail

football_file_photo_on_11-07.jpgA few of our local youth football teams hit the field Sunday.

The Bellefontaine Blaze varsity football team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 12-0 win at Graham.

Jake Kennedy opened the scoring when he hooked up with Tristin Tillman on a 31-yard touchdown pass. Gauge Hayman capped it off with a 33-yard touchdown run.

Hayman finished the game with 61 yards rushing, while Tillman tacked on 51.

Shady Bowl hosts season finale Print E-mail

checkered_flag.jpgShady Bowl Speedway closed out the 2008 season with a great night of speed and fun Saturday.

Three classes of stock cars plus the crowd pleasing boat and trailer race brought down the curtain on the season.

The Modifieds were on hand to run a 25-lap feature with fourteen cars taking the green flag.

Raiders win big, Royer still undefeated in Saturday soccer Print E-mail

soccer_ball.jpgThe Benjamin Logan boy's soccer team traveled to Fairlawn on Saturday, coming away with a 7-0 win.

The Raiders outshot the Jets 50-2 as senior Seth Henry netted 4 goals and 2 assists, bringing his season totals to 22 goals and 9 assists.

Logan Leis scored and had an assist, Dennis Engelenburg scored his 12th of the season, and Paul Scales notched his first career goal.

WL-S continues to dominate cross-country scene, several local teams shine Print E-mail

cross_country_picture.jpgThe West Liberty-Salem varsity girls cross-country team finished 3rd in the small team race and 4th overall at the Anna Invitational on Saturday.  18 teams participated in the race.

The Big Orange was led by senior Hillary Seely who placed 12th out of 177.
