Local youth racer earns feature win PDF Print E-mail

checkered_flag.jpgBellefontaine teenager Tyler Ransbottom shined in a couple of go kart races over the weekend.

On Saturday, Ransbottom went from the tail to a fourth place finish in the feature at Stateline Speedway in Edon, Ohio.

On Sunday, he competed at Putnam Speed Park in Ottawa and took the checkered flag in his Coyer Enterprise #2.

It was Ransbottom's first feature win of the season.

Congrats to Tyler!!!

 
Two All-Star Football Games this weekend PDF Print E-mail

The Miami Valley All-Star Game is tonight at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.

The game will feature seven Logan Countians.

Bellefontaine's Jason Brown is the head coach of the North team.

Chieftain offensive line coach Chris Schmidt is one of Brown's assistants. (Audio interview included.)

Finals included:

Acme:

Benjamin Logan defeated Dayton Stebbins 6-2.

Logan Coleman went the distance to earn the win.

Trent Kuhn, Blake Rodenberger, and Trenton Pugh each had two hits to lead the offense.

The Raiders are 5-1.

Finals included:

The Bellefontaine Powerbuilt Acme team swept a doubleheader at Greenville.

Powerbuilt won the first game 25-0 in five innings.

Brock Mitchell fired a two-hitter and struck out nine.

Jace Mills went five for five to lead the offense.

For the third straight year, Bellefontaine standout Regan Price has been named to the Olympic Development Program's state soccer team by the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association.

The team is made up of 18 girls who advanced out of the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton districts. The squad trains each week in Clarksville, Ohio.

In July, the Ohio team will join 13 other state teams in DeKalb, Illinois to take part in the Region 2 Olympic Development training camp. Each player will be trying to earn a spot on the regional team.
