soccer_ball.jpgMonday was a tough night for local soccer teams.

After an hour lightning delay, Greenon defeated host Benjamin Logan 4-1 in varsity boys to snap the Raiders four-game winning streak.

The Knights led 2-0 at the half.

Benjamin Logan standout Seth Henry scored in the second half to cut the deficit to one.

Greenon then took control by scoring two late goals.

Indian Lake and West Liberty-Salem roll in volleyball Print E-mail

indian_lake_logo.jpgA few of our local volleyball teams hit the court last night.

The Indian Lake varsity team handled Kenton 25-10, 25-21, 25-21.

Heather Allen had 11 digs.

Kirsten Brademeyer recorded 13 assists.

Devin Grandi had 11 kills.

Sara Tevis recorded 8 kills.

Lady Tigers soccer team earns tie, busy weekend for youth teams Print E-mail

Finals included:

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls team tied host Southeastern 1-1.

Alyssa Neff scored for the Tigers.

Alexa Hormann recorded 6 saves.

WLS is 4-9-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the OHC.

Kaffenbarger powers Little Lakers, Little Chiefs blanked Print E-mail

football_file_photo_on_11-07.jpgA few local youth football teams hit the gridiron yesterday.

The Little Lakers JV team edged Urbana 18-14.

Nate Kaffenbarger scored twice and JJ Seibert had the game-winning touchdown.

Indian Lake recovered a fumble in the 4th quarter to set up the winning score.

In varsity action, Marysville defeated the Little Chiefs 35-0.

The Pirates lost to Newton 25-12, 12-25, and 17-25.

Erica Snapp had 10 points and 10 kills.

Courtney Hurley recorded 8 points and 4 kills.

Taylor Leiss Leiss had 10 points and 2 kills.
