Several of our local baseball and softball teams were in action over the weekend.
The Benjamin Logan Acme team earned a split on Saturday.
The Raiders breezed past Fort Recovery 10-0 in five innings.
Dustin Craig fired a one-hitter and recorded twelve strikeouts.
Trent Kuhn led the offense with two hits.
Every starter had at least one hit (Matt McKirahan, Donnie Stover, Blake Rodenberger, Artie Fields, Tyler Easter, Dustin Craig, Jacob Barns, Logan Coleman, and Michael Cox).

Bellefontaine teenager Tyler Ransbottom shined in a couple of go kart races over the weekend.
On Saturday, Ransbottom went from the tail to a fourth place finish in the feature at Stateline Speedway in Edon, Ohio.
On Sunday, he competed at Putnam Speed Park in Ottawa and took the checkered flag in his Coyer Enterprise #2.
It was Ransbottom's first feature win of the season.
Congrats to Tyler!!!

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded to a serious motorcycle accident on State Route 235 near State Route 366 (north of Lakeview) Sunday just before three p.m.
Troopers report that a northbound '06 Tank motorcycle driven by Don Williams, 60, of Lakeview went off the right side of the road, went airborne, and then hit a utility pole.
Williams was ejected and landed on the pavement.
He was flown from the scene to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

There was a serious injury accident on State Route 508 Sunday morning around eight-thirty.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that a westbound '92 Ford Escort driven by Nikita Trabert, 21, of Urbana went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and then went off the left side of the road and struck a tree and a fence just east of Township Road 201.
Trabert was transported from the scene to OSU Medical Center by Medflight.
She was not wearing a seat belt and her car suffered heavy damage.

In the face of rising fuel costs, Union County Sheriff Rocky Nelson has put into place measures to reduce fuel consumption and minimize the impact of gas prices on taxpayers.
Previous steps begun in May 2007 included encouraging more stationary patrols and utilizing more two-person patrol units when possible. The measures raised concern in April 2008 when it was discovered that despite using 1,054 fewer gallons than in April 2007, costs still increased by $276.
