The Bellefontaine Fire Department got a new toy Tuesday.

A $1.4 Million dollar toy!

The long-awaited new ladder truck was finally delivered Tuesday to the anxiously waiting department.

The new ladder truck has all the bells a whistles and will be on the road after training later this month.

Just like with all new equipment, the crew of the Bellefontaine Fire Department must be trained on all the new things.

The original cost of the truck was $1.4 Million Dollars and after a federal grant, it only cost the city just over $600,000.

The ladder truck was constructed locally in Columbus by Sutphen and all repairs will be able to made there or in Urbana.

Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler shares more:

The old ladder truck was in need of major repairs that would have cost the city more money than purchasing the new truck.
