Bellefontaine man arrested on multiple drug charges

A Bellefontaine man was arrested on multiple drug charges Tuesday night.

The BPD K9 Unit stopped Jesse Houchins, 41, for a headlight violation.

As Houchins exited the vehicle, he showed behavioral changes consistent with someone concealing something on them.

He denied consent to officers to search him and his vehicle.

K9 Boodik was then deployed and alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search was conducted.

Officers located a container of methamphetamine in the bottom pocket of the driver’s door.

Houchins was placed under arrest for possession of meth.

Authorities found a small crack pipe and a key chain container that contained crack cocaine on Houchins.

Both meth and crack cocaine field tested positive.

Houchins was lodged in the Logan County Jail on felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of crack cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
