UPDATE: The Water Boil Advisory has been lifted.

*********************************************************

The Bellefontaine Water Department has announced that it will be turning off water temporarily to make necessary repairs to a leaking water valve.

The water will be shut off to the below addresses, starting at 8 AM on Tuesday, and will remain off for a few hours while the repairs are being completed.

Once the water service is restored, a boil advisory will be in effect for the affected areas until water samples can be collected and tested.

The results of the water testing are expected to be available by the end of the business day on Wednesday.

In the meantime, residents are advised to boil any water for at least five minutes before using it for consumption, including drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.

If the water appears discolored or cloudy once turned back on, it is recommended to let it run until it clears.

The boil advisory affects the following addresses:

  • 2241,2303, 2305, 2307,2315, 2317, 2321, 2361 South Main Street
  • 2348 US 68 South
  • 2361 US 68 South
  • 2500 US 68 South
  • 2527 US 68 South, Suite 1, Suite 2, Suite 3, and Suite 4

The Bellefontaine Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the patience of residents as they work to ensure safe and reliable water service.

Further updates will be provided as soon as testing results are available.
