The Bellefontaine Police Department was dispatched to Lakewood Drive in reference to a menacing complaint, Monday around 5:00 pm.

The victim reported that Cheri Rose, 58, had punched her in the forehead during an argument. She also stated that Rose was not welcome in her house, having assaulted her in the past.

Police observed a quarter-sized lump on the victim’s forehead, which was beginning to turn purple and blue in color.

Rose was found at her boyfriend’s residence on Walker Street. While speaking with the police, she stated that she was aware the victim did not like her, but denied having hit her. Instead, she suggested the victim may have caused the injury herself.

Rose showed signs of intoxication.

She was transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged for assault.
