Benjamin Logan Students Attend Leadership Conference in Chicago

Students from Benjamin Logan Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter attended the 2024 BPA National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois, May 9–14. 

The conference brought together an estimated seven thousand delegates from across the country to vie for top honors in business, finance, technology, marketing, and health administration skills competitions; attend leadership and professional development workshops; receive awards for community service activities and elect the 2024–2025 BPA national student leadership team.

Students attending the conference from the Benjamin Logan BPA chapter were:

  • Isabella Lowe, Ohio BPA State Secretary, and voting delegate

  • Addison Scott, Economic Research Individual

  • Keaten Varner, Banking & Finance

  • Simon Bachus, Podcast Production Team, Certiport Adobe Photoshop Certification earned

  • Seth Jones, Podcast Production Team

  • Trevor Sclesky, Podcast Production Team

As a chapter Benjamin Logan was recognized for the BPA Cares Membership Explosion Award and Advisor Mandi Wood was recognized for her 10 years of service as an advisor.

Senior Simon Bachus stated, “Attending the BPA National Leadership Conference allowed me to learn more about different cultures, use work-related skills professionally, and connect with others.” Senior Trevor Sclesky enjoyed attending the BPA National Leadership Conference because he was able to create fun memories with friends, try good food, and learn interesting things about Chicago. Junior Addison Scott said, “I enjoyed attending BPA NLC because it allowed me to experience new people and gain long-lasting memories. This opportunity impacts my future experiences by allowing me to feel comfortable socializing in new environments.”

While in Chicago, participants had opportunities to network with fellow BPA members, attend leadership workshops, and talk with industry representatives. Members also visited famous attractions in Chicago such as the Navy Pier, The Bean, Magnificent Mile, an Architectural River Boat Tour, the Shedd Aquarium, and attended a White Sox vs. Guardians baseball game.
