Residents who live on Johns Avenue in Bellefontaine are now under a boil water advisory due to repairs made to a fire hydrant.
This advisory means water should be boiled for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
Once the water is restored, water may be a brown, rusty color.
Please allow the water to run until the water runs clear.
The Water Department will collect samples for total coliform once the water is turned back on.
Once the samples are collected, results will be received within 24 hours.
When the water is confirmed safe for consumption, we will again notify you that the boil water advisory has been lifted.
The city apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates your cooperation and understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Water Department at 937-593-6121.
