As of Tuesday morning, the Boil Water Advisory that was previously issued for 344 Colton Avenue through 429 Colton Avenue has been lifted.
Water quality testing has confirmed that the water is safe to drink and use.
Before returning to normal use, officials recommend:
- Flush all cold water faucets for 3–5 minutes or until the water runs clear.
- Discard any ice made during the advisory and clean ice bins if applicable.
- Discard the first batch of ice from automatic ice makers and flush refrigerator water dispensers.
- Replace water filters if recommended by the manufacturer.

The City of Bellefontaine Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for customers located between 344 Colton Avenue and 429 Colton Avenue after a water main repair.
According to the city, the advisory was issued as a precaution after the repair resulted in a temporary loss of water pressure.
Residents in the affected area are advised to boil all tap water for at least three minutes before using it for:
- Drinking
- Making ice
- Brushing teeth
- Preparing food
- Washing dishes
The advisory will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms the water is safe for normal use.
The City of Bellefontaine says a notification will be issued as soon as the advisory is lifted.
City officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation while the precautionary advisory remains in place.
