The Bellefontaine Board of Education met in a special meeting Thursday morning.
Jason Brown was voted to be the head football coach for the Chieftains and will be resigning as high school principal.
The resignation is effective July 19, 2024.
The board voted unanimously to accept Brown’s resignation.
They then appointed him as head football coach and Chieftain Pride Lab Coordinator for the 2024/2025 school year.
In December, Brown resigned from the football position, and Aaron Peitsmeyer was named the new head football coach.
Peitsmeyer resigned earlier this month.
The board also accepted the following resignations:
- Mark Butler, Chieftain Pride Lab Coordinator, effective May 28, 2024
- Eric Adelsberger, Educational Aide, effective May 23, 2024
It was then moved and again unanimously approved to appoint Cliff Core as the High School Principal, effective July 19, 2024.
He will have a 3-year contract for the position.
Core has been the Associate Principal at Bellefontaine High School for five years.
The Associate Principal position has now been posted as open and the district is seeking applicants.
Superintendent Brad Hall talks about the changes coming to the district:
The next board of education meeting will be March 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Bellefontaine Middle School Library.
