Monday night, the Bellefontaine Police were dispatched to South Main Street because a vehicle was reported to be swerving.

Police initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Tanner Claybaker, of Brookville, who showed several signs of intoxication.

He then failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Claybaker was transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department and put in a holding cell when he became belligerent.

He continued to be belligerent as officers struggled to place him in handcuffs.

Once in handcuffs, officers escorted Claybaker to a patrol car where he continued to be belligerent and kicked an officer.

Claybaker was transported to the Logan County Jail where he was charged with OVI.

The report is being forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s office.
