Commissioners Michael Yoder, Mark Robinson, and Joe Antram issued a proclamation recognizing March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Logan County on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Accepting the proclamation was Krista Oldiges, Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) Superintendent. Also present for the proclamation was Tracey Horney, LCBDD Service and Support Administrator, Tricia Eckfeld-Hunter, and Alex Woodruff with her son Calvin.

Tricia and Alex spoke about the support programs extended to them by the board of developmental disabilities. “During the month of March, we are excited to continue to spread awareness about inclusion,” said Superintendent Oldiges. “Through collaboration with local organizations, schools, and the community, we have come so far in the DD field. Our goal is to continue to break any and all barriers while spreading the important message that all perspectives are valued, including those of individuals with disabilities,” she continued.

The Logan County Board of DD offers services for a lifetime for people with developmental disabilities beginning in Early Intervention for children under 3 years of
age and at the Discovery Center for preschoolers. The Service and Support Administration Department provides services for children 3 years of age through adulthood. For more information on the Logan County Board of DD, go to www.logancbdd.org.
