Monday evening officers from Washington Township were called to Family Dollar in Russells Point because a man was nodding off in the parking lot with his children in the car.
When officers arrived they found the man, later identified as Branden Davis, 25 of Bellefontaine.
While speaking with Davis, officers observed signs of drug use.
K9 Bruno was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle, and a probable cause search turned up methamphetamine.
Davis was charged with possession of drugs and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The three children were released to their mother.
Additional charges of child endangering were forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutors Office.
