A Zanesfield man was arrested Monday after deputies responded to a reported domestic violence incident.
Deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 4000 block of Alpine Parkway after several 911 calls reported a woman screaming inside a home.
During one of the calls, dispatchers heard a man say he “could not take it anymore.”
On another call, the victim told dispatchers that 41-year-old Jeffrey Chapman had pulled her out of bed and was trying to leave the area in a white Ford Transit van.
When deputies arrived, they found Chapman outside the residence.
According to the report, deputies noticed blood on his face and described him as upset and aggressive.
The victim told deputies Chapman grabbed her by the neck during an argument.
According to the report, the argument started after Chapman became angry because the victim had been sleeping.
The victim said Chapman pulled her from the bed while children inside the home were screaming.
She also told deputies Chapman put his hands around her throat, making it difficult for her to breathe.
Chapman later told deputies he did grab the victim’s face or neck during the altercation, but claimed he could not remember all the details.
Deputies arrested Chapman and charged him with domestic violence and strangulation.
He was then transported to the Logan County Jail.
The case was forwarded to Children’s Services and the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
