Drunk driver arrested getting dinner at Subway

Bellefontaine Police were called out to Subway on South Main Street in Bellefontaine Friday afternoon for an intoxicated driver.

When officers arrived Stephen Scheifele, of Bellefontaine, was at the drive-thru window.

Officers asked Scheifele if he had been drinking and he said his last beverage was just before coming to town.

Police noticed Scheifele’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot and could smell an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath when he spoke.

Scheifele consented to a field sobriety test and failed.

He was placed under arrested and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department.

Scheifele then gave a chemical breath test which read .215, which is nearly three times the legal limit.

Stephen Scheifele was charged with OVI and OVI breath equal to or greater than .17.

He was released to a sober driver.

I’ve never noticed a drive-thru at Subway. Has this just been a thing that I completely missed? Oh, and don’t drink and drive, it’s bad mmkay. You can get better food delivered, the extra ten bucks is worth avoiding the risk of treachery and despair.
