The elderly West Liberty man who was struck in the parking lot of Kroger earlier this week has passed away.

Bellefontaine Police reported Earl Cushman, 90, was walking with the aid of a walker toward the entrance of Kroger when Ronald Zimmerman, 76, of Zanesfield, was trying to find a parking spot and failed to see Cushman and hit him, knocking him to the ground.

At the time of the accident, Cushman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine medics.

Things took a turn for the worse and Cushman was transported to a hospital in Lima.
